Since things are quiet here at Organical HQ, I thought I would share what all the band members have been up to over the past year.   The biggest reason that Organical has been in the shop this year is a couple of reasons…first, everyone has been really busy with other projects and the second, the last record, “We’ve Lost Contact with Monster Island” (available from our online store, click the link, hint, hint,) was such a all-consuming process that I think we all needed a recharge.   A couple of attempts early on to work through some new material didn’t really come together so rather then try to force it, we let it lie.   

The guys have been busy however, let me give you a quick run-through:

John has been playing pretty steadily with Mamabolo who have been generating a lot of positive buzz and they also recorded their debut album at Bad Vision studios, with Organical’s own Ed at the console.

John has also been part of a resurgence of his old band, Rusty, who played a reunion show this past summer.  They still have a lot of fans and maybe some more shows and music is forthcoming.

Darren has been focused on building guitars rather then playing them this past year.   His boutique guitar company, Decibel Guitars had a breakthrough year, and after building a guitar for Periphery guitarist —-, he has a whole bunch of orders in the pipe, including one for former Anthrax guitarist Dan Spitz.    it could be awhile before I get mine…

Ed, as previously mentioned worked on Mamabolo’s record and is currently upgrading Bad Vision with a lovely old Soundcraft board.   He’s also been playing in retro-instrumental band S.A.M.

Steve(me) has also been playing in S.A.M. who will have a recording out this spring.  I’m also working on lots of new material, some of which is for an as yet untitled project, and some possibly for Organical.    I have some other stuff in progress but it’s too early to talk about but will share here when I can.

Even if Organical doesn’t have any news, I will try to share what everyone involved in the band is up to here.
