Sheesh!, It’s getting hard to get a word in edgewise with all the cartooning going around. Ed is on fire! Even Darren is getting in the act.
Anyway, enough about them, let’s talk about me, because the last 2 sessions were finally about me recording some stuff. After months of drums, bass and Darren guitar I finally got to start laying down my guitar tracks. We used the same mic and cabinet setup we used for Darren’s guitar but plugged my rig in, which consists of Garnet and GBX stuff and if Ed’ ever stops cartooning for long enough maybe he’ll post a picture.
I tweaked my sound on the GBX pre-amp a little and we left the mics right where they are and we were “dialed in.” I was able to track most of the heavy rhythm guitar tracks that I was doing. We’ll finish them next session and then move on to some to the rest of the bed guitar tracks that me and Darren will be doing.
We spent some fun time adding some special effect guitar to GIANT Monster, using a combination of my Alesis Bittr and Philtre pedals running through TC Electronics Nova Delay and got some sick sounds. I recently also picked up a Guyatone Flip Tremolo which is an amazing sounding tube tremolo and used that as well. I think this is a record that will have our best sounding guitars but will also feature some really interesting tones and noises as well.

Why, just last night I uploaded a bunch of Studio & Recording Session pix to the Organical Picassa Album, but I dunno how the gen-pop can get at it. Lotsa great gear photos and even a handsome lad or two playing on the geetar.
I will add a photo gallery to some of those photos in the near future.
Gotta categorize this as “Recording DIary”
