We are working along 2 paths right now as we are on the home stretch of getting our rhythm section tracks completed. We are doing a drum tracking day and a bass tracking day. Drum tracking day this week was getting "GIANT Monster" done. Another song with John’s new double-kick and we have taken full advantage of the extra kick here. This song is the heaviest song we have every done…and we have some heavy songs. I mean Super-Villain is heavy, Corpse of the Dead is heavy, Stealing Heat is heavy but this is something else. I mean Darren has 8-strings now and he’s not tuning up if you know what I mean. Seriously, I have decided that we clearly are worthy of the title "Heaviest non-Metal band in the World." I have a saying, with apologies to Jessica Rabbit…"We aren’t Metal, the songs just come out this way."
Bass tracking day this week was "Targets" and Ed came up with some slinky sounds here. Our bass sound is so good now, we are not even thinking about changing it. It just freaking works with everything right now. I’m sure when we get to mixing we’ll be adding some cream and sugar but right now we are happy with our coffee black!!
