We are so busy working on our new record that we haven’t had time to blog! Not really, but we are making some great "behind the scenes" progress. I guess this all behind the scenes really since no one has heard a peep from us for some time now but you know what I mean.
Did I tell you our plan is to record 20 songs? If I didn’t then now you know. It’s no wonder it’s taking us so long. We are still working our way through drum tracking and John our drummer was unavailable for the last couple of weeks so we focused on getting the arrangements a little more arranged and working out the new song I spoke of last time, "Uncanny Valley." Last session John was back and we worked through "Uncanny Valley" with him as well as "inyour20s" now called "Pixel Dust", "Hibakusha" and "The Warning Light is Blinking." We’ll start tracking drums on those ones next session, it will probably take a couple of weeks at Organical-time pace to get those done and also prep the next batch of songs which will be the last. Our revised plan(after my unrealistic plan to have everything done by the end of the year) was to have all the tracking done by the end of the year. The revised, revised plan is to have all the drum tracking done by the end of the year. I think once all the drums are in the can we will move a lot faster. Our thinking is once we have that really solid, strong foundation, everything else should get together much quicker.
Everyone is starting to think about gear again, Darren is on a 8-string guitar kick, and John is thinking of adding a second kick drum, I have been thinking about a new tremolo pedal and Ed just bought a new accordion.
