A session without John means that we are working on getting stuff ready for sessions with John.   We decided before we started that because John had limited availability, we would try to work in batch mode.   We would record 5 drum tracks and on days he wasn’t available prep the next 5 songs.   Once we have the 5 drum tracks in the can, we will spend our time with John working out the next 5 songs and when he wasn’t there we would record the other parts.   Then the cycle begins anew.

Last session with John we started on "YNH" but the temp track wasn’t up to snuff so we re-did it and also put together a new temp track for "Bugs."   We plan on doing an extra long session this Sunday so hopefully the computer gods will smile on us(or at least not smite us) and we can get drum tracks done for these two songs, as well as finalizing "Black Hole."

We are going to deviate from our plan a little bit because we want to just verify that everything is going to sound as good as we think it does, so we will record guitar/bass/vox for "ynh" and do a quick mixdown.   Safety first kids!

We’re starting to move along pretty well now I believe.   I’m chipper today because I also licked the arrangement of a song I’ve been struggling with the past month, let’s call it "All-Time" for now.   If all goes well it should end up on the record.
